The McAdoo
Fire Company is a team of professionals that serve with
excellence, dedication, and pride; who are committed to saving
lives, protecting property, and improving the quality of life
for our residents and visitors; by providing rapid and
reliable services in all emergency and non emergency
activities. The McAdoo Fire Company personnel will accomplish
our mission by participating in this community, providing
progressive and comprehensive services, and striving to
efficiently utilize all resources to meet the needs of our
community.
Our manpower includes the
Fire Chief, Deputy Fire Chief, 2 Assistant Chiefs ,1 Captain, 1 Lieutenant, and
45 Firefighters . Our manpower is used to provide 24 hour service manning
1 Engine, 1 Ladder Truck, 1 Brush Truck and 1 Basic Life Support Ambulance.
Our Fire coverage area
consist of McAdoo Borough, Kelayres (Kline Twp), Haddock, Silver Brook, Lofty,
McAdoo Heights. We cover 5 miles of route 309 and 5 miles of Interstate 81.
Square miles of McAdoo Borough is 0.33 miles and Kline Twp is 12 square miles.
Our EMS coverage area
consist of McAdoo Borough, Kelayres (Kline Twp), Haddock, Silver Brook, Lofty,
McAdoo Heights, Beaver Brook, Audenreid, Hazle Village, Four Seasons Trailer
Park, Yorktown, Tresckow, Junedale, Jeansville, Rush Twp North end, 10 miles of
Interstate 81 and 8 miles of route 309.

Recent Run History For
Firehouse 49 - Station # 2
Second MVA In Same Area In 12 Hours, Kline Twp
On 5-20-2013 at 12:17 McAdoo
Fire Engine 49-15 and 29-11 respond to Mile Hill Road &
Lofty Rd , Kline Twp for a MVA. Engine 49-15 arrived on
scene found a 2 car MVA with both drivers injured. APTS X
2 and fire crews helped removed the pts from the vehicles.
Both drivers transported to HGH with injuries. Oil Dry
placed on roadway for fluids down. This was the 2nd MVA in
the area in 12 hours. Assisted by police 92.

Vehicle Into A Ditch In Kline, Injures Driver
On 5-19-2013 at 21:54 Hrs
McAdoo BLS and Engine 49-15 responded to a MVA at 1055
Mile Hill Road, Kline Twp. When crews arrived on scene
they found a vehicle into a ditch. The driver was
transported to HGH with injuries by McAdoo BLs and there
were passengers transported to HGH by APTS. There was
foggy conditions in the area of the MVA.

Engine Responds to MVA On Interstate
On 5-2-2013 at 22:48 Hrs Engine 49-15 responded to I-81
MM 138 South for the MVA. Upon arrival found a pick up
truck into a ditch. Patient was removed from the vehicle
and transported to Washington and Lincoln street in the
borough to a LZ. One driver was transported via Med Evac
to Lehigh Valley Medical Center. Tresckow Fire/Engine
29-11 assisted with the LZ. Crew found out the next day
that the male in the MVA was missing from the State of
Georgia. Article Below.

Quint Responds To WSF In City
On 4-21-2013 at 02:26 Hrs Quint
49-22 dispatched to Wyoming Street in Hazleton City for a
smoke investigation. Crew arrived in the area and it was
found the smoke was from a WSF in the city. Quint 49-22
was then moved to the scene of the WSF at 590-592 McKinley
Street Hazleton City. Crew reported to OIC and were
directed to the home at 594 2nd division. Crews operated a
1 3/4" from division 2 and hit the fire on division 2 and
3 of 592 address. Overhaul was also done in 594 and hot
spots were hit. A total of 5 homes were either destroyed
by fire or had moderate fire damage. A fire marshal was
called to the scene to investigate. A Hazleton City police
officer came upon the blaze during his shift. Engine
2,3,4,5 And Ladder 1,2 Hazleton City, West Hazleton Engine
and Rescue, McAdoo Quint and Mahanoy City RIT operated at
the fire for 6 hrs. Three Engine laid into the scene due
to heavy fire load and exposures. There were no injuries
in the blaze.

Baltimore on high alert for possible terrorist activities.
Individuals in these areas that see any suspicious
activities or items need to contact the local authorities
immediately. The terrorism level has also been risen.

House Fire Quickly Contained
In Borough
On 4-13-2013 at 10:27 Hrs
McAdoo Fire dumped the station for a house fire at 311 E
Blaine Street, McAdoo borough. Quint 49-22 took the
address and Engine 49-15 stood by at the hydrant. Crew
entered the front of the home were they found a small fire
behind a couch. Fire was quickly contained. All structure
box companies were recalled. On scene for 1/2 hr.
McAdoo PD also on scene.
Engine Responds To Dumpster Fire
On 4-11-2013 at 03:22 Hrs
Engine 49-15 responded to Sherman And S Kennedy Drive for
a trash fire. Crews arrived on scene found a dumpster next
to a building involved. One line pulled fire extinguished
200 Gallons of water used. On scene for 1/2 hr. Engine
went available.

Quint Responds To WSF With Entrapment
On 4-6-2013 at 02:20 Hrs Quint
49-22 dispatched to 329 Centre Street Mahanoy City
Borough, Schuylkill County for a working structure fire
with entrapment. Quint arrived on scene 1/2 block away
from fire scene, crews reported to OIC and were assigned
to overhaul. When ladder crew arrived bulk of the
fire was knocked down. Fire building was in the middle of
a block 3 story. There were 2 occupants killed in the
blaze. Two victims were also transported to local
hospitals. The fire went 2 alarms with a 3rd alarm on
stand by. Multiple companies from the county responded.

Crews Respond To Rollover In
KlineOn
3-19-2013 at 07:35 Hrs McAdoo engine dispatched for a MVA
on Rt309 Mile Hill Rd, Kline Twp. Engine crew arrived on
scene found a small passenger vehicle on its roof in the
northbound lane. Upon arrival the driver was out of the
vehicle, self extricated. The driver was taken to HGH for
minor injuries. Assisted by PD 92,144.
Tractor Trailer MVA with Haz
Mat On Interstate
On 3-6-2013 at 17:42 Hrs
McAdoo Engine dispatched to I-81 MM 132 for a MVA
involving 2 tractor trailers with HAZ Mat. MVA ended up
being in the North Bound lane as county notified it was in
the South bound lane. One tractor trailer rear ended
another TT. A saddle diesel tank ruptured spilling 150
gallons of diesel fuel on the roadway. Dikes were set up
to prevent further contamination to the area. No injuries
reported. MVA was in Delano Twp, PSP also on scene.
Engine 49-15 Responds To
Interstate For MVA/ Fatal
McAdoo Engine 49-15 requested
to interstate 81 MM 135 North in Delano Twp for a MVA.
Crews arrived on scene found one person on the roadway
that had been ejected and run over by another vehicle and
was a class 5. One other occupant was ejected and was
found on the embankment. That patient was flown by Pen
Star 5 which landed in the northbound lanes of I-81.
Traffic was backed up in the area for miles. Mahanuoy City
Humane and Hometown fire diverted traffic from the area
around the scene. Companies on scene were Delano Twp, Ryan
Twp and McAdoo Fire. PSP.

Engine Responds To A Dryer Fire
McAdoo Fire dispatched to 204
S Kennedy Drive McAdoo Borough for a dryer fire reported
to be out. When crews arrived on scene they were notified
by a tenant in the apt building that there was fire still
in the basement. Engine 49-15 crew entered the building
and found no visible fire but smoke condition was present.
Upon investigation nothing found but possible a belt on
the washing machine. Building ventilated with PPV fan. All
other companies on the structure box were recalled.

Engine Responds For Rollover On
Interstate
On 2-5-2013 at 13:06 McAdoo
Engine dispatched to I-81 MM 138 North for a rollover with
entrapment. McAdoo crews arrived on scene found a single
passenger car that rolled over into a bank. Negative on
entrapment and Rescue recalled. Driver removed from
vehicle and transported to HGH. Assisted by Delano FC &
PSP.

Engine Responds For Smoke In A House
On 2-2-2013 at 12:17 hrs
Engine 49-15 responded to 40 Centre Street, Kline Twp for
smoke in a structure. Engine 49-15 arrived on scene and
found smoke condition in the 1st floor and basement areas.
Source found to be the oil furnace. Unit shut down and
home ventilated. There was 18 PPM of CO in the home. On
scene for 30 Min.
Engine Responds To TT Rollover
On Interstate
On 2-1-2013 at 12:53 Hrs McAdoo
Engine 49-15 dispatched to I-81 MM 136 North Delano Twp
for a Tractor trailer accident rollover with entrapment.
Engine went responding before crews arrived on scene Chief
6 Delano reported negative on the entrapment. Engine 49-15
arrived on scene but was then released. Driver self
extricated and was transported to Coaldale Miners for
minor injuries. All other companies were recalled. PSP
also on scene.
