If a captain is not present the first week of darts it will go to the next highest average shooter that is signed up. That shooter will be the new captain. The captain that is absent will be placed back on the signup sheet as a regular shooter.

Captain’s Information

2. Collect all dues money for your team before the match. No pay-No play.
3. Envelopes are used for dues, the team captain is responsible for collecting there team members dues. Make sure the envelope is filled out completely and signed by the captain. Captains sign the envelopes to insure all dues are present and accounted for in the envelope.
4.Captain’s are responsible for keeping score on the score sheet. A captain can designate a team member to keep score. Teams will alternate keeping score in the 3 games played. Loser of the cork keeps score first.
5.These rules were set in place to help captains solve problems when they arise. Common sense and good sportsmanship are to be used if a solution is not exlicit in the rules. Remember to have fun and shoot darts.
Measurements And Boards And Lines
1. All boards must be a height of 5’3’ from the center of the board to the floor. The distance of the shooting line from the wall is 7’3”. Also the distance of the shooting line will be 9’ on a diagonal from center of cork to the floor, this line will arc to conform the distance of 9’.
2. All boards will be checked by McAdoo Fire Co and dart league officers to determine if a new board is needed. If a new board is needed it will be in place prior to the first week of dart league play.
3. You should never cross the throwing line with any part of your foot. If your foot does cross the line, your turn is null and void. Please notify the captain and the player that crosses the line. Only 1 warning will be given after a 2nd time the rule may be enforced.
League Score Sheets
1. All score sheets must be handed into the secretary after the final match. If a score sheet is left behind the secretary will not be responsible for that score sheet.
Keeping Score in a Dart Game
1.If and when a shooter is absent that shooter that is not present will lose 3 points off his or her present average. For a captain that is not present it will be 5 points off his or her present average.
2. When filling the score sheet out for a absent shooter, his or her average minus the points from rule # 1 will be evenly broken up across all 9 innings. There will be no loading up the first 3 innings or the last 3 innings. You cannot put a zero for any inning for a absent shooter. If this happens the team that breaks the rule will forfeit that game and will take it as a loss.
3. To insure accuracy, you should always record scores while the darts are still in the board.
4. If a team is winning and they don’t need to shoot the 9th inning they are not required to throw their darts. It is the team captain’s discretion.
5.The players names are filled in on the left on the score-sheet. After a player shoots, the scores are called out to the scorekeeper. In the first inning, you simply write down the player's points for that inning.
6.Beginning in the second inning, the score boxes are cut in half by a diagonal line. From here on in, the player's score for the inning is written in one section, and his running total for the game is written in the other section. This allows us to keep track of what everyone shot in any inning of the game, and also provides a second set of numbers to use in double checking the math, so we'll have more accurate scorekeeping, and more detailed record-keeping.
7. You'll notice that for a score of zero (a "blackout"), the scorekeeper fills in the square, blacking it out.
Make sure all sheets are filled out completely and correctly if they are not and it results in a team having a dispute later on it will not be any one’s fault but that of the team member that kept the score at that match.

Dart Rules and Scoring |

Game play 1.Shooters must use the darts provided by the social hall. No outside darts are allowed to be used. 2.To determine who goes first, each player throws a single dart at the dart board and the player who gets closest to the bull’s eye wins and get choice to shoot first or second for the first match. 3. Shooters arriving late can shoot if the game is no further than the 3rd inning. 4. Any shooter shooting out of turn will lose their points for that inning. 5. In case of a personal emergency or work situation, shooters may shoot out the remainder of the game if both teams are in agreement. If possible this is to be determined prior to the match. It should be limited to one player per team per game and is not to be a continuous practice. This will be at the team captain’s judgment. 6. Players shoot three darts per turn. When players are competing, each player throws all three darts and then the next player takes the line. When teams are competing, each player on the team shoots, then the next team takes the line. 7. When sharing the same set of darts, players throw their darts, and the next player to take the line pulls the darts out of the board and calls the score. Players generally do not pull their own darts. 8. When standing at the line to shoot, players remain behind the shooting line. They are said to "toe" the shooting line. 9. No toe boards will be used. Toe boards may be used for the playoffs as long as everyone is in agreement.
Scoring in American Darts The board is broken into pieces called innings. The pieces resemble pie pieces, and extend from the cork in the middle outward through the red ring, and the white ring, stopping at the blue ring. These pieces are separated by strips of metal that are embedded in the board.
The second scoring area is the red ring, worth two points. Oddly enough, this area is referred to as "the red". The final scoring area, known as "the trips", is the thin uncolored outer ring. Darts landing in this area score three points each.
The blue outer ring is worth nothing at all. The metal strips that divide the innings do not even extend into the blue ring.
One point for the dart in the single Two points for the dart in the red Three points for the dart in the trip area Total points scored during the inning - Six.
More Notes on Scoring: > Darts must remain in the board in order to count for points. If a dart hits the board, but bounces off, no points are awarded. > If a dart falls out of the board while a player is shooting, those points are lost as well. > If a thrown dart sticks into the barrel of a dart on the board, it will not earn any points. > The wires that separate the scoring sections on the dart board overlap in some places. If a dart should hit in between these two overlapping sections of wire, splitting them, it is referred to as a split wire. In this case, the score taken for this dart is the higher of the two sections. For example, if a dart splits the wires separating the red and trips sections, the shooter gets three points (the trip value) for that dart. If a dart splits the wires between the trip and the blue section, the shooter gets three points for that dart. Ties 1. If a game should end in a tie, all shooters scores will count in the tenth inning. The team with the highest score will win the game. If the score is tied after the 10th inning, play will continue until one team score more points than the other. ( 10th, 11th, 12th and so on ) 2. If a shooter is absent he will get a zero for the extra innings. 3. Points from the extra innings will not count towards the shooters average. |
